| Like most writers, I usually have a lot going on. I’ve just finished my first semester as a grad student (M.A. in American History), a field of deep interest to me. Both my novels were set in the past, and I’ve published many pieces of historical material.
I’m currently writing a book (for adults) about the Canton Asylum for Insane Indians, which operated from 1902 – 1934. I think you’ll enjoy my blog about it, at: www.cantonasylumforinsaneindians.com I’m very pleased to say that I’ve had 272,000 hits since I began the blog in February, 2010. Last year, I became a distance instructor with the Institute of Children’s Literature. I help adults who want to write for children develop their ideas and learn the craft of writing. Of course, being an instructor keeps me on my toes. Along with my students, I get a steady review of rules, techniques, and tips as I critique manuscripts. This has been a lot of fun, and I enjoy the teaching role. I just had a science fiction short story picked up for the anthology The Four Horsemen: An Anthology of Conquest, War, Famine & Death, with Pill Hill Press. |
